Sorghum Molasses Barbecue Sauce

* Best Sticken Sauce Ever
Pure Sorghum Syrup, 1 quart
Click to order Molasses
 4 cups catsup
1 1/2 cups water
 1/2 cup sorghum molasses*(Sticky)
 1 teaspoon black pepper
3 large crushed cloves of garlic
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon salt
 1 tablespoon liquid smoke
3 tsp.  Worcestershire
 Combine all ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce to simmer and cook for 35 minutes.
Let cool. Place in a container and refrigerate until needed.
Yield: 5 cups

  1. Best sauce I've tried! I added some raspberry honey mustard and some apple cider vinegar too! Zippy!

  2. This recipe sounds great! I think I'll try it this weekend. As a sweet sorghum syrup producer, I have one minor comment: Sweet sorghum syrup producers as well as the NSSPPA (National Sweet Sorghum Producers and Processors Association)cringe at using the word "molassas" when refering to sweet sorghum syrup. Molassas is actually a byproduct of the sugar making process and has nothing to do with making sweet sorghum syrup.
